AMD High Definition Audio Device Error after Windows 10/8 Downgrade to Windows 7

Symptoms

After downgrading from Windows 10 or 8 to Windows 7, you may encounter an error message stating that the AMD High Definition Audio Device is not working properly.

Cause

This error occurs when the Intel Platform Trust Technology option is enabled in the BIOS.

Solution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Enter the BIOS settings.
  2. Navigate to the "Security" tab.
  3. Disable the "Intel Platform Trust Technology" option.
  4. Save your changes and exit the BIOS.
  5. Restart your computer.
Once you have completed these steps, the AMD High Definition Audio Device should be working properly again.

Additional Information

If you are still experiencing problems after following the steps above, you can try downloading and installing the latest drivers for your AMD High Definition Audio Device.

This device corresponds to the TPM module which does not have a driver. If you switch to W7 64 bit there isyou install this hotfix. It is only good for W7 64 bit.

When attempting to recover the operating system from Microsoft Window 8 or 10 to Windows 7 or from. I have zipped up and attached the Microsoft hotfix for the ACPIMSFT0101 device below.

Run the hotfix which should install the device. Not sure why the AMD HDMI audio driver. Details on the device show ACPIMSFT0101
