Acrylic Overlays: A Guide for Natural Nails
What are Acrylic Overlays?
Acrylic overlays are a type of artificial nail enhancement that can be applied to natural nails without the need for a minimum nail length. They are applied directly onto the natural nail plate without the use of tips or extensions.
How to Apply Acrylic Overlays
Applying acrylic overlays is a relatively simple process that can be done at home with a few basic supplies. First, you will need to prepare your nails by filing them to the desired shape and length. Next, you will apply a thin layer of nail primer to the nails to help the acrylic adhere. Once the primer has dried, you will apply a thin layer of acrylic monomer to the nails and then dip the nails into acrylic powder.
You will need to repeat this process until the nails are covered with a thin layer of acrylic. Once the acrylic has dried, you can file and buff the nails to smooth them out and give them a natural look.
